Dog Ears Bookstore & Café in South Buffalo will host children’s book author Kathleen Mancuso for a book-signing event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the community bookstore, 688 Abbott Road, Buffalo.
Mancuso’s book, Pooleville Pete, is a different take on an old story. Pete is a groundhog who always cries on Feb. 2, Groundhog Day. Find out how 8-year-old Molly makes a difference in Pete’s life.
“Every elementary classroom needs a copy of Pooleville Pete,” commented one elementary school principal. “The story introduces children to the concept of empathy and social justice. The artwork is stunning!”
Illustrated by Monica Gartler, Pooleville Pete was published locally by Amelia Press, the children’s book division of NFB Publishing of Buffalo. It is perfect for children ages five to 11.
